Execution of construction works under the task: “Replacement of COB-63A type automatic level crossing signalling systems on railway line No. 96 Tarnów – Leluchów, No. 108 Stróże – Krościenko, and No. 117 Kalwaria Zebrzydowska Lanckorona – Bielsko-Biała Główna”, implemented as Task No. 2 of the project: “Safety Improvement at Railway Level Crossings – Stage II”.

As part of the task, works were executed across the following engineering sectors: railway signalling (SRK), telecommunications, track, road, and power supply. The works encompassed railway level crossings located on railway lines No. 96, No. 108, and No. 117.
Within the railway signalling (SRK) sector, the installation of Category C automatic level crossing signalling systems (RASP type) along with technical equipment containers (SSP) was carried out. The installation at the crossings included, among others, road traffic light signals, wheel sensors, Automatic Train Control (SHP) track devices, level crossing transition indicators, trackside signs, and comprehensive cabling with cable ducting networks. The devices were successfully integrated into the remote monitoring units (UZK) operated from the main signal boxes.
The scope of telecommunication works included the construction and reconstruction of copper and fibre-optic cable routes, execution of cable branches to the level crossing containers, installation of crossing-keeper communication sockets, as well as the deployment of maintenance communication telephones (MB and CB types).
As part of the track works, local comprehensive track superstructure replacements were performed within the level crossing areas, along with track alignment and the installation of drainage elements.
The road works encompassed the installation of new level crossing surfaces using ELASTrack-type rubber panels, asphalt resurfacing on access roads, level crossing drainage, and complete vertical signage and horizontal road markings.
In the power supply and electrical engineering sector, existing grid connections were adapted to power the signalling equipment at the level crossings, power supply units for the railway signalling automation devices were installed, and level crossing illumination systems were deployed.
The task was successfully completed and formally accepted under the final acceptance protocol in June 2025.
